An extensive research was done by the FDA and many other agencies and many patients were found being affected by the drug and its components. With the consumption of the drug many cases were reported of cardio vascular diseases.

The results were inferred from the findings of an echocardiogram which is a special procedure which checks the proper functioning of the heart valves. From these results it was found that about 30 percent of the patients who were tested had abnormal echocardiograms in spite of them having no symptoms. These abnormal results warranted the action by FDA which was aptly taken.
